Why You Should Take an AST 1? 🤔

• Safety First: Understanding the risks associated with backcountry travel is crucial. The AST 1 is your first front load of knowledge that may just scare you right out of your pants. Not to stress as we teach you how to choose small simple terrain allowing you to build on our skills and continue to learn.

• Knowledge is power. That is all.

• Community and Support: The course fosters a sense of community among students, creating a supportive environment where you can share experiences, learn from others, and build some pretty rad friendships that may just last a lifetime! (We are not a dating service but we like to think we are responsible for some marriages out there)

• Skill Development: builds a solid foundation for further avalanche education, paving the way for more advanced courses like AST 2.

• Empowerment: By completing the AST 1, you take responsibility for your safety and become a partner your friends can rely on in the backcountry. It’s everyone’s responsibility to be able to contribute to decision making and know what to do in an emergency.
