The Stay Wild AST 2 Online Theory Course is built for backcountry travellers who are ready to move beyond fundamentals and into advanced decision-making. This course dives deep into terrain, evolving snowpack structure, weather pattern analysis, and human factors that influence risk in avalanche terrain.

AST 2 challenges you to slow down, observe, and think more critically. You’ll learn how to recognize red flags, evaluate snowpacks, and apply structured decision frameworks to real-world scenarios.

Complete the online theory portion at your own pace, then join us in the field for hands-on travel, advanced rescue scenarios, and practical application. This course meets all Avalanche Canada requirements for AST 2 certification.
