As we all know the taps have not exactly been turned on yet this season. We currently have a weak shallow snowpack as our base.

As we madly refresh webcams and weather stations over the next few days think of how it will react with the current snowpack.

• Transceiver Interference •

We have so many electronics on us now a days it’s really important to think about transceiver interference.

One thing that can happen with interference is ghost signals. Our phones or other devices can make it seem like there is a signal when there is in fact not. This can make things really tricky if you are in the middle of a search which is highly stressful on its own and then you’re getting random false signals.

We always recommend doing a couple searches with your phone purposely close by. Why do we do this? So we are able to see what interference looks like. That way we can quickly identify it and fix the problem by removing the interference or spacing it out appropriately.
